He’s back! Two-time US Latte Art Champion Piyapat “DQ Flook” Lapteerawut has returned to instruct Latte Art classes at Coffee Project New York.Â
Flook has years of experience in coffee training and hands-on competition coaching. He’s applied his expertise towards developing a new curriculum for our Latte Art Intensive classes, including new levels, lecture, and specialized practical training for technique.
Previously 2 hours long, our new Latte Art Intensive (at Level 1) is more comprehensive at 4 hours long and covers: history and milk science; how to pour hearts, tulips, and rosettas; and making all the various espresso drinks in a café context. Level 2 requires Level 1 as a prerequisite and covers winged pours, competition strategies, and one-on-one technical coaching.
If your goal is to improve your latte art game and impress employers, judges, or friends, Flook is the champion to learn from. Here are a just few of his accolades:

“I like to teach because it’s fun and, most importantly, it feels great when you can instruct someone and they execute a correction really well. Also, when students use the knowledge in their career or even in they daily life. I feel good when I can help these people get better.
Another reason would be money: coffee education is now something that people are really interested in. Nowadays, we have people who aren’t even looking for professional training—they’re just coffee enthusiasts—attending class with us. So, I think the market has potential to grow compared to the last 5 years.”
All classes take place at our training lab in Long Island City.
