SCA LEARNING MODULES

The SCA Coffee Skills Program consists of one introductory module, Introduction to Coffee, and five specialist modules: Barista, Brewing, Green Coffee, Roasting and Sensory.

Each module focuses on a different professional role in the coffee industry.

SCA SKILL LEVELS AND DIPLOMA

Each module consists of a class at each of three skill levels: Foundation, Intermediate and Professional.

Foundation classes are entry-level and open to all. Once certified at the Professional level, students are considered able to work professionally in that subject area.

Each course is assigned a point value that applies toward the SCA Coffee Skills Diploma, a cumulative certification awarded when the student achieves 100 points total of classes completed and exams passed.
