Class > SCA Coffee Skills: Sensory Module Foundation Level (Online Class)
This course is meant to teach the basic principles of sensory analysis and its importance in tasting coffee. It outlines the physiology of taste, introduces methods to identify basic sensory characteristics in coffee, and shows how to organize a tasting table. In the instructor's words: small steps for a long journey.
This is a full day class and upon completion and passing the exams, students receive certificate of recognition by the Specialty Coffee Association.
Thurs-Fri, Aug 27-28 (10.00am-1.30pm) Taught by guest instructor Davide Spinelli.
Davide started in the beverage industry as a bartender in Italy and studied as a sommelier. 15 years ago, he found his way to the coffee industry, specializing as a barista, and 10 years ago, he began working as a coffee educator. Davide has a passion for competition coffee and was Italy’s Aeropress champion in 2014. He is a Q Arabica Grader, Q Processing Professional, and has shared his knowledge around the world.
IMPORTANT: This class is being offered remotely and not in person.
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
