The SCA Roasting Skills module covers the coffee roasting production process and is instructed onsite at our Coffee Project NY roasting facility. Students will learn the SCA curriculum hands-on with our San Franciscan roasters.
- The physical changes beans undergo during the roast process and the factors that affect them
- Measuring and analyzing roast cycles, levels, and defects
- How to properly cup and evaluate sample roasts
- Workspace management, production efficiency, and operations
Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) certification classes consist of lectures, hands-on skill training, exam review, and some applicable exams.
