Academy of Coffee Project NY is the only Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) premier training campus in New York State. Our coffee school uses state-of-the-art equipment including the Ground Control Cyclops batch brewer and five espresso machines: a Faema E71E, a Sanremo Cafe Racer, a Sanremo Opera, a La Marzocco Linea Classic, and a Victoria Arduino Black Eagle.
The onsite-roastery includes an Ikawa and a full-sized San Franciscan roaster along with a smaller one for sample roasting. ChiSum Ngai, Coffee Project New York's co-founder, is a certified Q grader and national roasting competitor, and personally oversees the roasting program.
Classes, both private and public, online and in-person, are offered for coffee professionals, home enthusiasts, and everyone in between. We also offer virtual and in-person training for our wholesale partners. If you're looking for coffee-oriented team building events, we have those too.
Get barista certification with an SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) Pathway course at the foundation, intermediate or professional levels or work toward certification in brewing, green coffee, sensory skills and roasting. We also provide Q-Grader classes at various levels following CQI (Coffee Quality Institute) specifications.
Enthusiasts and pros alike can take standalone Coffee Project New York designed workshops to learn or enhance skills in roasting, sample roasting, pour overs, Chemex brewing, latte art, coffee entrepreneurship, and many other things.
